Pal, you live in GEORGIA. Talk about education and the environment, but don't call yourself a liberal. The goal is victory (and 218 Democrats in the House). Don't fall on your sword -- too many lives are at stake to tolerate an honorable defeat.

Good luck!

If I'm not mistaken, GA-12 is a pretty "liberal" district. I'm not from there, but I've been in Athens and spent a lot of time in Savannah. Both of those cities have a large number of self-professed liberals. And those two cities make up a lot of the district.

How about it, Doug? Can you still win if you call yourself a liberal?

Don't forget, there are two definitions of "liberal" in this country's political discourse: Ours and theirs. To me, "liberal" means dedicated to social justice, making sure that everyone in this country has an equal opportunity to succeed, and making sure that the federal government is a force for positive change in our communities, not some grim specter that harasses you.
To the conservatives, "liberal" means everything bad about politics.
I think its a given that I'm going to be branded as a liberal at some point in this campaign. That's one of the favorite perjoratives the GOP likes to throw around. I want to make sure that the voters here know what my definition of the word is as well.
Can I still win? I think so. If liberal means that you want to create jobs, provide healthcare, and improve our schools, all of the things that the conservatives have failed to do, then yes I am a liberal, and you bet I can win.
